Apple rolling out watchOS 6.1 with support for older Watches and AirPods Pro

Apple has released a new update for Apple Watch owners everywhere: watchOS 6.1. While this update is pretty minor, it actually does one huge thing which is add support for Apple Watch Series 1 and 2. Those two models were left out of the initial roll-out of watchOS 6, so it’s nice to see the upgraded operating system finally reach some of Apple’s older wrist hardware.

In addition, watchOS 6.1 also adds support for AirPods Pro and further secures and debugs the entire experience. Some users are also reporting they’re getting better battery life out of this update which is always nice to see.

How to Install

The new software can be installed by going to the Apple Watch app on your iPhone and searching for a new software update. You’ll have to have your Apple Watch connected to its charger in order for the update to install.
