LG will release its next dual-screen phone on November 1st. After launching the V50 ThinQ earlier this year (review coming shortly!), the company says its new G8X ThinQ will debut right at the top of next month. It’ll retail for $699 and be sold unlocked. It’ll also be available through a number of US carriers.
The G8X ThinQ is a tweaked version of the G8 from earlier this year that has a smaller notch, no silly air gestures, an in-display fingerprint reader, and compatibility with the phone’s bundled second screen accessory. The accessory in question connects to the G8X over USB and gives you an entire second screen to work with. It’s closer to having two phones at once opposed to having an extra large phone like the Samsung Galaxy Fold.
The bundled accessory is what LG hopes helps increase sales of its flagship smartphones. The company has been losing the flagship war for a number of years at this point, and it’s no surprise they’re trying to shake things up with the G8X. With a price of $699, there’s a good chance customers will be drawn to it when looking at it in a carrier store, especially since it has the following list of specs.
- 6.4-inch 19.5:9 2340×1080 display
- Snapdragon 855 processor
- 6GB RAM
- 128GB storage
- Headphone jack
- Dual cameras (one wide, one ultra-wide)
- 4,000mAh battery
- Boombox speaker
