After releasing the feature for iOS 13 users earlier this week, Instagram has begun rolling out dark mode support to its Android app through the Play Store. The feature makes the background of the app dark opposed to its traditional light color scheme. The only bright aspect of the app will be the photos in your feed, a layout that’s much more eye-appealing in darker lighting situations.
Right now, the feature only works on phones running either Android 10 or Pie as they’re the only two versions of Android with official dark mode support. It isn’t clear if Instagram will add a toggle to the app allowing anyone to enable dark mode, but I’ll let you know if they do.
