If your iPhone is running iOS 13 this fall and you plug it into your car, you’ll be greeted by a fresh upgrade on your vehicle’s screen. Apple has introduced a refreshed version of CarPlay that comes with plenty of changes to better the overal lexperience.
For starters, CarPlay will now come with a refreshed dashboard. You now get an array of widgets that give you glanceable information from apps like Maps, Music, and Calendar. Speaking of which, the Music and Calendar apps have been updated to show more relevant information, whether it be album artwork or upcoming reminders.
Siri is also getting upgraded on CarPlay. With iOS 13, Siri will now offer up suggestions based on what it thinks you should do. For example, if it detects your garage door is open, it’ll offer a suggestion right on your dashboard to close it.
It isn’t much, but it’s at least a worth upgrade for CarPlay owners. It’ll roll out this fall with iOS 13 on the iPhone 6s and up.
