It also comes with a properly-placed webcam.

Today during Computex 2019, Dell took the wraps off its newest XPS 13 2-in-1 with plenty of notable upgrades. Right off the bat, the webcam we saw on the updated XPS 13 back at CES 2019 has made its way to the 2-in-1 model, sitting at the top of the display instead of somewhere below it. There’s much more to the laptop than that, but it’s by far one of the most exciting and pleasurable.

Moving on, the new XPS 13 2-in-1 has an upgraded design. It now comes with a tweaked keyboard that uses Dell’s MagLev key technology, a fingerprint sensor, a slightly larger trackpad, and more metal integration. It also now comes with a 13.4-inch 16:10 display in either a Full HD+ or 4K configuration.

Under the hood, Dell utilizes Intel’s newly-announced 10th-generation Core i chipsets. They’re a part of the U-series which means you’ll get much better performance over the previous Y-series line that was used in the older XPS 13 2-in-1. Dell says you can expect 2.5 times better performance with the new processors as well.

Notably, the XPS 13 2-in-1 is no longer fanless since the processors are now much more powerful and need extra cooling. Dell says it added four fans to the machine, but I don’t think it’ll be a big deal for many people.

Other than these upgrades, the XPS 13 2-in-1 remains relatively similar to its predecessors. there’s still a few USB-C ports, a headphone jack, a 360-degree hinge, and slim bezels around the screen. It seems like a promising machine overall, but of course, we’ll have to test drive it before we can say anything with confidence.

We have yet to hear anything regarding availability and pricing, but we’ll let you know when that news breaks.
