With the Apple TV app on Samsung televisions, you can enjoy all the content you’ve purchased through iTunes including movies and TV shows. You also get access to content available through Apple TV+ which will launch later this year. The app is a bit different when compared to what’s available on tvOS and iOS in which some UI elements may vary. You also don’t get third-party service integration. Luckily, you still get Channels which lets you buy content through providers like HBO and Showtime.
In addition to the new Apple TV app, Samsung smart TVs are also getting AirPlay 2 compatibility, allowing you to wirelessly cast content to your TV using Apple’s own tech on an iOS device.
Apple says the new TV app is available for Samsung customers in over 100 countries. Those with LG, Vizio, and Sony TVs will get both features along with HomeKit compatibility later this year.
