Now rolling out to all Pixel phones, including the 3a.

Google today began rolling out an update to its default Camera app for its Pixel phones that adds a new feature: time-lapse. Swipe over to the “More” tab in the app and you’ll now find a Time-Lapse option which will let you record a long video that will be automatically shrunken down into a much shorter clip but in fast motion. Many phones have this feature already, but for some reason, the Pixel didn’t.

All Pixel phones are getting the feature, including the newly-announced Pixel 3a and 3a XL, through an update in the Play Store.
