Today at I/O 2019, Google announced that it’s bringing its Duplex technology, originally meant to book reservations over the phone, to the web. With Duplex on the web, Google says the Assistant will be able to book things like movie tickets and car rentals for you using a service provider’s existing form. Onstage, the company showed how after navigating to a certain website, Duplex was able to book a car rental using a user’s information on their behalf along with their stored payment method.
Right now, Duplex on the web will exist as an early demo, according to Google, so we probably have at least a few months to wait until the tech is ready to be used by the public.
