A new report from famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo (via MacRumors) suggests the technology company is gearing up to include a higher resolution selfie camera with its entire 2019 range of iPhones. The report mentions an upgrade from 7MP to 12MP with the exclusion of shrunken pixel sizes. This will result in fast shutter speed, better performance in low-light, and overall sharper selfies. Apple will also reportedly use a black coating to hide the camera so it isn’t as visible on the front side of the phones.

Kuo goes into detail about a couple other rumors that have been circling the internet as well. In his report, Kuo mentions how he expects Apple to include two rear cameras with the next-generation iPhone XR along with a third ultra-wide camera on the iPhone XS and XS Max successors. Whether any of these reports rule out to be true, it should be an interesting year for the iPhone and its photographic abilities. Apple will be playing catch-up to manufacturers who have as many as four rear cameras, so it should be interesting to see what the company can pull off come September.

Speaking of which, we aren’t expecting any of these phones to come out until the fall. We still have to get through summer, so anything could change in the mean time. Stay tuned, folks.
