A new rumor has surfaced on the internet thanks to a report out of Economic Daily News. The rumor suggests Apple will release a new iPhone in March of 2020 with a 4.7-inch display and the same design as 2017’s iPhone 8, chunky bezels and all.

With this new iPhone, it appears that Apple will finally replace the aging iPhone SE. The 4-inch device from 2016 has 2015 specs and a design that dates back to 2012. opting for something a bit more recent will certainly make for a much better tiny alternative to the flagship iPhone XS line.

In terms of specs, Economic Daily News notes the device will sport a 4.7-inch display, the upcoming A13 processor, a single camera on the back, and 128GB of storage. It’ll cost somewhere between $600 and $650, standing as a more affordable option than even Apple’s recent $750 iPhone XR. Of course, it’ll come with the same design as the 2017 iPhone 8 with fat bezels on the top and bottom of the screen, a glass back, and aluminum side rail. If you weren’t a fan of this design, you probably won’t like this 2020 version.

One major upside with this design, however, is the security method. If you aren’t a fan of Face ID, this new iPhone should come with Touch ID which, for some, has proven to be much more reliable and faster. It also wouldn’t be crazy for Apple to release a new iPhone with Touch ID despite switching over to Face ID. The new iPad Air and mini come with a Touch ID sensor, so having a lower-cost iPhone with the security method in place actually seems to make sense.

Of course, since this phone is rumored to come out early next year, we still have quite some time for more speculation, reports, and rumors to do everything from corroborate to contradict today’s news. Stay tuned, folks.
