Now, you don't have to send moon emojis to your friends.

After releasing the feature as a sort of Easter egg that required sending a moon crescent emoji to a friend, Facebook has officially made dark mode in Messenger available. The feature can be toggled on in the app’s settings by tapping your profile picture, selecting settings, and then finding “Dark mode.”

The feature darkens Messenger’s entire user interface to be less intrusive while you’re in low-light environments. It also looks a lot cooler than the standard, bright-white mode. Users have been asking for dark mode in Facebook’s messaging app ever since the company teased it early last year. Now, many months later, it’s rolling out to all users of the app on both iOS and Android.
