Well before the Mod goes on sale, Motorola and Verizon have begun rolling out Android Pie to the Moto Z3 with 5G Moto Mod support. The update replaces the aging Oreo operating system that’s still on a good chunk of devices today. The software will allow early adopters use Verizon’s 5G Mod to connect to the carrier’s next-gen network. The accessory goes on sale April 11th.

With Pie on the Moto Z3, you’ll be getting all the normal goodies that come with the OS such as better notification management, a tweaked UI, new navigation gestures, a new Do Not Disturb mode, Adaptive Battery, a redesigned settings app, improved audio controls, better security, and more. Verizon published the full release notes for the update which you can read here.

To install the update on your Verizon Moto Z3, navigate to Settings > About phone > System updates. From there, you should see the upgraded OS ready to be installed. Just tap “Yes, I’m in” and you’ll be on your way. Be sure to connect to a stable Wi-Fi network beforehand. You’ll also want to have at elast 80 percent battery life left.
