Spotify has begun offering a great perk for those subscribed to the company’s $9.99/month Premium plan: a free Hulu subscription. If you pay $10 a month for the music streaming service, you’ll now get ad-supported Hulu at no extra charge. Previously, Spotify required you to either pay $12.99/month for free Hulu and Premium or $4.99/month if you’re a student.
Starting today, the perk goes into effect. To take advantage of it, go to spotify.com and log in with your account. Visit the “Your Services” page under the “Account” tab and activate your Hulu subscription. Afterward, you’ll be able to create a new Hulu account or log in with an existing one and integrate your Spotify account, granting you a free ad-supported subscription.
It’s worth noting you’ll have until June 10th, 2019, to take advantage of this promotion. Beyond that date, it’s unclear if the $9.99/month Spotify Premium plan will include Hulu. Personally, I think it’d be a good move to continue the promotion since Spotify subscribers wouldn’t have to pay extra to stream movies and TV shows. And with Apple gearing up to introduce its own TV streaming service which might be accessible with a simple $9.99/month Apple Music subscription, it’d be good from a competition standpoint.
