It’s no secret that many owners of Google’s Pixel 3 and 3 XL smartphones suffer from performance issues. Evan YouTuber MKBHD admits to problems he’s having in a new video. I’m in the same camp as everyone else, and every single day, I wish the phone performed as well as my OnePlus 6T. But it doesn’t, and that sucks.
However, it looks like Google wants to fix that, at least to an extent. The company is rolling out the March 2019 security patch to both the Pixel 3 and 3 XL now, and the update packs in performance improvements for the storage, camera, and Bluetooth connectivity. This doesn’t confirm whether the phones will perform any better, but in theory, the new software should at least make some sort of difference.
I’m installing the March security patch as I type this article. I’ll let you know if it actually makes things better as soon as I get to play with it.
