Famed Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo has released a gigantic report with his predictions on Apple’s 2019 product lineup, and 9to5Mac was able to obtain it. Alongside the upcoming iPhones, Kuo mentions Apple’s newest iPad lineup and what it might look like after it gets upgraded.
According to Kuo, Apple will release two new iPad Pro models this year. He doesn’t go into detail about either model, so we’ll have to wait this one out for specific details on design and specs.
However, Kuo does mention an upgraded 9.7-inch iPad which currently stands as Apple’s budget offering. This year, the company is expected to increase the screen size to 10.2-inches and retain a similar footprint to the 9.7-inch model. This will likely mean slimmer bezels around the display, something many users will accept with open arms.
Finally, Kuo confirms Apple will ship a new iPad mini this year. Previous reports have pegged the device as a simple spec bump with a new processor. It’ll also probably come with more storage, but for the most part, it’ll be the same old 7.9-inch iPad mini we’ve come to know.
While we’re on the subject of multimedia devices from Apple, Kuo also brings up a new iPod touch in his report. Rumors have also suggested Apple will release an upgraded iPod touch 6 this year, and it looks like it’s going to happen. It might only get a processor bump, mind you, but at least it’ll be a new iPod which, admittedly, don’t come around very often.
We’re expecting to hear lots more about these rumors in the future so be sure to stay tuned.
