Last year at this time, Nintendo announced it was working on a mobile version of Mario Kart that would be released in March 2019. As it turns out, that release time frame was too early for the company, as the famed video game giant has announced its pushing the launch to this summer.
“In the smart-device business, Mario Kart Tour was scheduled to be released this fiscal year,” wrote Nintendo in their quarterly earnings report, “but in order to improve quality of the application and expand the content offerings after launch, the release date has been moved to summer 2019.”
While this is unfortunate, it at least means Nintendo doesn’t want to release a bad product, especially one attached to Mario Kart. So far, we’ve heard nothing about the game other than its name, so who knows what to expect come Summer ’19. We’ll be sure to keep you in the loop if any developments pop up.
