With the end of December slowly but surely approaching us, companies are starting to make pre-CES 2019 announcements to avoid being lost in everyone’s coverage. LG started the trend yesterday, and now, it’s Samsung’s turn as the company has just announced a new 15-inch version of its Notebook 9 Pen 2-in-1.

Almost exactly one year ago, Samsung introduced its first Notebook 9 Pen which came with a 13.3-inch 1080p display, 8th-generation Intel Core processors, up to 16GB of RAM, up to 512GB of storage, and Intel┬áHD Graphics. For this generation, it’s largely the same story for both the new 15-inch model and the slightly-upgraded 13.3-inch model. Both offer Full HD resolutions, 2-in-1 form factors, 8th-gen Intel Core processors, and up to 512GB of RAM.

However, there are some differences between the two models. While the 13.3-inch variant sticks with integrated Intel graphics, the 15-inch Notebook 9 Pen gets Nvidia GeForce MX150 graphics. There’s also a good chance the 15-inch model gets shorter battery life than the 13.3-inch model since both come with the same 54Wh cell.

Besides these differences, you get largely the same experience across both models. You get two Thunderbolt 3 ports, one USB-C port, a microSD card reader, a headphone jack, facial and fingerprint recognition, a backlit keyboard, AKG stereo speakers, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, and aluminum builds. Hence the name, both models also come with integrated S Pens which now come with improved latency and replaceable tips for different drawing styles. There’s also a new color scheme to reflect that of the blue Galaxy Note 9.

Currently, we’re not sure how much these things will cost or when they’ll officially launch, but expect that information sometime in the next couple of months.
