Apple’s HomePod is much more expensive than its competitors at $349. Meanwhile, the Google Home and Amazon Echo regularly sell for $99 a piece, with discounts making them even cheaper. Because of this, you can imagine the desire from potential HomePod buyers for some type of discount. Luckily, B&H has exactly what you’re looking for.
Over on its site, B&H Photo has the Apple HomePod listed for $249. That’s $100 off from the original price. We saw a similar discount from the retailer over Black Friday, but the device hasn’t been this cheap ever since.
In case you’re unfamiliar, the HomePod is Apple’s first entry into the smart speaker market with compatibility with Siri, Apple Music, and smart home appliances. It doesn’t play nice with third-party services like Spotify or iHeartRadio, but it does at least give those living in Apple’s wall garden a smart speaker solution.
That being said, when it launched, the main reason to buy a HomePod was so you could listen to your Apple Music content on a higher-quality audio system than what you may already have. But now that Amazon’s Echo is getting Apple Music support, it may be best to save some cash and grab one of Amazon’s smart speakers instea. Y’know, unless you absolutely have to have Siri live among you and your family.
