Barnes & Noble Announces New 10-inch Nook Just in Time for the Holidays

Browse By

Just as the holiday season is getting underway, Barnes & Noble has announced a new version of its infamous Amazon Kindle competitor, the Nook. Simply called the Nook 10.1, the e-reader has the largest display ever included with a Nook-branded tablet, according to the retailer. The 10.1-inch 1920×2000 panel should make for a more immersive reading and browsing experience.

Other than this change, however, there isn’t much else new. It comes with 32GB of storage, 802.11ac Wi-Fi, up to 8.5 hours of battery life, a microUSB port (borrr-iiing!), a headphone jack, 2MP cameras, and Barnes & Noble’s software on board. It costs $129.99 which is probably the biggest change besides the display the Nook line is seeing today since no Nook in history has cost that much. Still, though, it would’ve been nice to see some sort of additional design change or spec bump.

The Nook 10.1 is available for preorder today. It launches Wednesday, November 14th.
