HTC has announced across its multiple social media accounts they’ll be holding an event on May 23 to unveil a new smartphone. While the company doesn’t confirm what smartphone that will be, rumors suggest it’s the upcoming U12 flagship, the successor to last year’s U11.

According to rumors, the HTC U12 will come with a 6-inch LCD WQHD+ display and minimal bezels. Considering it’s 2018, we’ll also probably see a dual camera setup on the back, while the same likely goes for the front as well if leaks are anything to go by. Previous reports suggest a Snapdragon 845, 6GB of RAM, up to 128GB of storage, and a 3420mAh battery will all come sealed inside. In addition, HTC’s pressure-sensitive Edge Sense that lets you squeeze the phone will also likely make its way into this device.
We’re still three weeks away from seeing the device officially so things could change between now and then. In the meantime, it looks like HTC will have a true 2018 Android flagship contender with the U12.
