Apple has begun sending invitations to members of the media to attend its upcoming March 27 event. However, this won’t be an event we’re all used to seeing the company hold. Rather, the company is touting the “Let’s take a field trip”- dubbed event will focus on “creative new ideas for teachers and students.” What’s more, it’ll be held at a high school in Chicago.

While there aren’t a ton of details available as to what the company is planning, Apple is said to be working on a new MacBook Air that will see a design upgrade and new internal specs at a price lower than $999. This would be an ideal computer for both students and teachers who may be on a budget. The company’s also been pushing the iPad as the perfect classroom companion, so seeing a new 9.7-inch entry-level model at this event wouldn’t come as a surprise either.

Of course, when more information surfaces, we’ll let you know. We’ll also have you covered on all the announcements that come out of Chicago on the 27th right here.
