Motorola has apparently been working on a VR headset for its flagship Moto Z lineup fo smartphones, and today it leaked via Evan Blass on Twitter. The headset appears to be a Moto Mod, a magnetic attachment for the back of Moto Z phones that have been on the market since 2016. What with the camera cutout in the front and “moto mods” branding, I’m just gonna assume you magnetically connect this headset to your phone like a speaker or battery pack.

There are a lot of uncertainties surrounding Moto’s upcoming entry in the VR market, but considering its phones support Google Daydream, it’s likely this headset will work with the platform exclusively. It’s also worth noting you’ll likely need to have a Moto Z, Z2, or Z3 handset for this accessory to work since the design of the headset appears to be built to accommodate the Z.

That being said, it certainly looks interesting and fun to use. We’ll let you know when more information is available.
