If you’re pumped to go see the next Avengers film when it hits theaters, let your excitement fully take over. In a set of tweets between the Marvel Studios and Robert Downy Jr. Twitter accounts today, it was revealed Avengers: Infinity War will be released on April 27th, a full week earlier than the original May 4th date.

It’s unclear why the movie is being pushed up, but it’s probably due to the crowded box office that’s en route for that timeframe. Deadpool 2 comes out May 18th and Solo: A Star Wars Story hits theaters May 25th. There’s gonna be plenty of competition this spring, so it makes sense to give Infinity War some time to simmer before audiences rush out to see other films.
Notably, this is also the same date the film will be released in European regions.
