It’s 2018, and here comes the next generation of smartphones. As leaked by Evan Blass, a new handset likely making its way to China soon adopts most of the characteristics that sum up a modern day Android phone while taking cues from previous handsets to make it stand out.

Called the Doogee V, it looks strikingly similar to last year’s iPhone X in which its 6.2-inch screen stretches to all four edges of the body while a cutout at the top remains to house a camera, earpiece, and ambient light sensor. On the back, it looks similar to some Galaxy S9 renders that surfaced earlier in which two camera sensors sit vertically with an LED flash to the left. Additionally, there are buttons and connectors on the edges to accommodate for volume, power, and headphones.

Possibly the coolest part of the upcoming Doogee V is the fingerprint reader. Rather placing it on the back or front of the device, Doogee appears to have opted for one beneath the display that can read your print whenever necessary. It’s unclear how it’ll work on this handset, but we’ll likely learn more in the future.

Pricing and availability haven’t been leaked yet, but we could understand more as time proceeds. And considering 2018 just started, expect more smartphones to come with similar feature sets as mentioned.
