When the OnePlus 5T debuted, one of its most anticipated features was Face Unlock. Not that it was built to compete with the iPhone X or anything, but it did provide a way to unlock your phone even quicker than using your fingerprint. In fact, many prefer the feature to the fingerprint sensor since it’s so fast. Now, backed by popular demand, it’s coming to the older OnePlus 5.

OnePlus co-founder Carl Pei tweeted this morning that Face Unlock would come to the OnePlus 5, yet another indication of just how much the company listens to its fans. While no rollout date was given, I’d expect Face Unlock to arrive at some point next month. Then again, this is just a guess – Pei did say “Merry Christmas” at the end of his tweet after all. Maybe it’s rolling out now. Go check your phone.
