When the iPhone X launched, one of the major complaints I heard from users wasn’t what was wrong with the device itself, but what was wrong with the apps they use on a day-to-day basis, namely Gmail which has proven to be a nuisance. However, in the app’s latest update, Google has finally optimized it to run on the iPhone X properly rather having two giant black bezels on the top and bottom of the interface.

Version 5.0.171119 also brings compatibility with third-party non-Google email accounts so you can add things like an iCloud account, an Outlook account, or even one from Yahoo. The update is rolling out to all Gmail/iOS users over the App Store.
