Moto recently announced which of its many devices would receive an upgrade to Android 8.0 Oreo. It included everything from the Moto G4 to the Z2 Force, and now we’re getting a glimpse at when the company plans to start rolling out the new software.

According to a prompt viewable on Moto phones by going to Settings > Software updates > Check for updates, Android Oreo will begin rolling out to devices “in a few weeks.” This likely means we’ll see the update hit the Z2 Force first and all the other devices on the list later on.

The exact definition of “a few weeks” is hard to pin down since in three weeks, it’ll be Christmas Eve and it’s a rarety companies release major software upgrades like that on holidays. Therefore, I think we can expect the update to begin rolling out the week of December 17th, but that’s just my guess.

We’ll let you know when our Moto Z2 Force and Z2 Play units begin receiving Android Oreo upgrades.
