Apple Fixes Autocorrect in iOS 11.1.1 Update

Apple is now rolling out a fresh update to iPhone, iPad, and iPod touch users in the form of iOS 11.1.1 which includes a fix for the issue where users would type the letter “i” and be autocorrected to the letter “A” and “[?]” symbol by mistake. The company says the bug is fixed in this update and so are issues pegging “Hey Siri” activation.

iOS 11.1.1 includes bug fixes for your iPhone or iPad. This update:

  • Fixes an issue with keyboard auto-correct
  • Fixes an issue where Hey Siri stops working

To install the new update, head over to Settings > General > Software Update. Tap “Download and install” next to the iOS 11.1.1 listing and you’ll be good to go. I recommend jumping on a Wi-Fi network first alongside plugging in your device beforehand as a) you don’t want data overcharges on your bill and b) you don’t want your phone or tablet to die during the installation process.
