Instagram Adds Superzoom to Stories for a ‘Suspenseful’ Effect

Instagram today is introducing a new feature for its Stories element called Superzoom. When opting to shoot in the new mode, pressing record will cause your camera to zoom into a particular part of the frame in a dramatic way. It even gets special music which Instagram describes as “suspenseful.” Many are saying this could be the next big thing, but don’t take my word for it.

To go along with the new feature, Instagram is also celebrating Halloween with new AR-powered masks and stickers. They’ll be available until November 1st and range everywhere from zombies to vampires to bats. Both of these updates are rolling out now to iOS and Android users.
