Snapchat’s New Context Cards Let You Book a Table or Get an Uber

Snapchat is introducing a new feature for its iOS and Android apps today called Context Cards. By swiping up on snaps posted to the regional Our Story feature, users will be able to learn more about various locations around the world and read reviews, get operating hours, and even take action like book a table using one of Snap Inc’s launch partners. The update is rolling out now to all users of the platform.

Snapchat says if a snap is uploaded to Our Story from somewhere like a restaurant, with Context Cards, you’ll be able to book a table using OpenTable, Resy or Bookatable. If you wanna visit the location in context, you can request a ride through Uber or Lyft. You’ll even be able to read reviews about different locations from Foursquare and TripAdvisor amongst others. Notably, this feature will be especially widespread across snaps that use geo-tags.

Context Cards are rolling out to those in the United States, the UK, Canada, New Zealand, and Austrailia. They’ll likely expand to other regions in the future. Snapchat says more information on this feature and additional partners will also arrive soon.
