Instagram Now Lets You Take Polls in Stories

Browse By

Instagram is rolling out a fresh update to its iOS and Android mobile apps that lets users take polls from within their Stories. By using the new poll sticker, users can ask a question and have two answers that followers can vote on. For instance, if you’re debating whether to have a donut with or without sprinkles, you can now hear the suggestions from others. Nifty.

Also arriving in this update is an eye-dropper tool which lets you select a color from a photo you’ve taken to upload to your Story and use it for text and paint brushes. There’s also now a tool to help align objects you place on pictures for your Story such as stickers and text. For now, the latter is limited to iOS.

This comes as Instagram says over 500 million of their users visit the platform each day. It’s no surprise this statistic has surfaced given how popular its Stories feature has gotten. Now, users have yet another reason to choose Instagram over Snapchat. I wouldn’t be surprised if the latter cooks something up to compete in the near future, however.
