Microsoft will launch a special LTE variant of the Surface Pro this December. As announced at its Ignite 2017 conference and reported by Neowin, the company will introduce the model on December 1st. It’s expected the device will go live on Microsoft’s online store soon.

While getting LTE connectivity for your Surface Pro sounds like a major perk for paying more, it also comes with a caveat: the option will only be available with an Intel Core i5 processor. If you’re looking for the ultimate travel computer with a Core i7 and an eSIM, you’re out of luck in this department. Of course, it’s always possible Core i7/LTE variants will go on sale at a later date, but at least at launch, you’ll be stuck with an i5.
