Wonder Woman Director Patty Jenkins Signs On to Direct Sequel

The director of the first Wonder Woman film, Patty Jenkins, has signed on to revisit her role in the production of the film’s sequel (via Variety). Back at Comic Con 2017, Warner Bros. confirmed Wonder Woman 2 would be coming in December of 2019 and that Gal Gadot would return to reprise her role as the title character. Now, another member of the original cast and crew will be returning as well, and it wouldn’t likely surprise many if more personal came back from the first movie.

Details remain slim as to what the sequel to the most successful DC film will be about, but the president at Warner Bros. told Variety the movie will take place “somewhere between 1917 and 2017.” We previously heard Wonder Woman 2 would take place in the 1980s, so this seems accurate. Of course, as more details surface, we’ll let you know.

Wonder Woman 2 is set for release December 13, 2019.
