Google Releases September Security Patch for Pixel and Nexus Devices

Google has published the September 2017 security bulletin over on its Android Source website. The firm states that between the two security patch levels – named 2017-09-01 and 2017-09-05, respectively – there are 81 fixes headed to devices. The most critical of the vulnerabilities fixed happen to sit inside the media framework, an area where many serious issues are resolved in monthly patches. Factory images and OTA images of the patch will become available shortly here, with the patch now shipping on all over-the-air upgrades to Android O for Pixel and Nexus devices.

If you wanna install an image of this month’s security patch, follow this guide. Otherwise, sit and be patient for it to hit your Pixel, Pixel XL, Pixel C, Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, or Nexus Player.
