Back at CES, Asus and Google debuted the ZenFone AR, a smartphone that could utilize both the Tango AR platform and Daydream VR platform. No other phone in history had such a feature set before, but it wasn’t clear when interested consumers could get their hands on it. Now, as is listed by Verizon – the exclusive carrier of the handset – on its website, we know the phone is available for pre-order and will cost $648.
Considering the specs, this price isn’t too shabby. You’re getting a camera array that will support Google Tango AR, a 5.5-inch QHD AMOLED display, 6GB of RAM, 128GB of storage, High-Res Audio and DTS virtual surround sound support, Android Nougat, and a Snapdragon 821 processor. And like I said earlier, you can buy a Daydream View headset and strap the phone in and enjoy some VR experiences as well. Overall, it’s a pretty good value at least on paper.
