Samsung is now rolling out the official software update that makes the Galaxy S8 and S8+ Google Daydream VR compatible. The news comes from a tweet sent by Google’s VR Twitter account. The phone is now also listed on Daydream’s official website.

It remains unclear as to who is rolling out the update, however. T-Mobile pushed the button too early last month, and so did Verizon, but it now looks like things are getting off to a much steadier start with a full rollout across carriers. In other words, expect both AT&T and Sprint to roll out the update in the near future to both the S8 and S8+. The unlocked S8 and S8+ should see the update much sooner.

This feature was promised back at I/O 2017 to arrive during this summer, and it looks like Sammy and Google fit pretty snug into this timeline what with August being the last full month of summer. Hey, it’s better to have the feature now rather never, amirite?
