Samsung’s Galaxy S9 Will Reportedly Reuse Screens from the S8

A new report out of The Bell today (via The Investor) claims that Samsung’s 2018 flagship, the Galaxy S9, will arrive with the same displays as this year’s Galaxy S8 and S8+. The 5.8-inch and 6.2-inch panels will reportedly be reused for next year’s device in order to avoid taking too many risks with such an important handset.

But that’s not all. Not only will they reuse the displays, but Samsung will also reportedly try giving an embedded fingerprint sensor another go since their efforts failed this year for both the S8 and upcoming Note 8. My bet is on Samsung using Qualcomm’s new technology that debuted at the end of last month so they don’t have to worry about reinventing an alternate way to do things. Otherwise, we might have yet another misplaced fingerprint reader.

Next year’s S9 should be pretty interesting to watch unfold, so follow along with Matridox as we uncover more.
