You Can Now Stream 4K HDR Content in Google Play Movies

Google has announced they’re now allowing users with compatible equipment to stream their content live popular movies and TV shows in 4K HDR quality. This gives users richer colors and deeper contrasts to create an overall better picture on your television or phone screen. Right now, this type of playback is available on the Chromecast Ultra alongside phones like the LG G6 and Samsung Galaxy S8 which both sport HDR-enabled displays.

As of this point in time, there’s a limited amount of content available to stream. The Amazing Spider-Man 2 is there, and so is Mad Max: Fury Road. Hey, you can watch The Lego Movie in HDR too. Oh, and that Batman sequel. And if you must know, Sausage Party is also on this list.

But don’t worry, you can simply search for “HDR” in Play Movies to view all of your options.

As long as you have the compatible hardware, check out Play Movies and see what you can stream in HDR.
