Amazon’s Dash Wand Comes with Alexa and Can Scan Stuff

Amazon’s line of Dash buttons has taken off in recent memory as a quick and effortless way to order common household supplies. Now, the company is taking things to the next level with the new Dash Wand that integrates a barcode scanner to add things to your cart. And not just stuff that was previously available with Dash buttons – literally anything.

This is already one giant convenience to have, but Amazon doesn’t stop there. After pairing the device with your phone over Wi-Fi, you can eve use Alexa on this thing to ask any question you would on, say, an Echo or Fire tablet. Amazon touts the Dash Wand is good for getting recipes on the fly, ordering food from services like Dominos, and asking about the latest deals. But obviously, you can do a bunch of typical stuff like check and weather and get your daily briefing as well.

It’s also magnetic so you can stick the Dash Wand on your fridge for ease of access. You probably won’t wanna lose it, right?

The new Dash Wand is available to Amazon Prime members for $20. Once you’ve made a purchase, you’ll be credited $20 towards your next order, meaning you essentially get the device for free. You’ll also receive a 90-day trial of the company’s AmazonFresh home grocery service so you can get the full experience out of your new gadget.
