Apple Introduces watchOS 4 w/ New Watch Faces and Lots of Features

At WWDC 2017, Apple today introduced watchOS 4, the next major update tot he platform. There’s obviously more watch faces, but they’re actually a bit smarter than you may think.

For instance, a new Siri watch face aims to predict information you’ll need throughout your day. In the morning, you’ll be offered commute times, upcoming appointments, and weather information, while the afternoon may bring up workout activity shortcuts. There’s also new faces based on the hit Toy Story franchise which includes faces with Buzz, Woody, and Jessie. Obviously, they also come with new animations that play when you lift your wrist. Sure, these are kind of silly, but the new Siri face may prove pretty useful.

A fresh dock in watchOS 4 allows users to scroll through their apps in a simpler recent apps view similar to that on the iPhone, more than one workout can be performed at once, automatic Apple Music selection will offer users some of their favorite tunes for different workouts and periods of time throughout their day, compatibility with workout equipment to sync your workouts through NFC, and more are also included in watchOS 4. A developer preview of the update is now available while everyone will get the update later this year.
