Apple has announced a new 10.5-inch iPad Pro at WWDC 2017. The new tablet features a 10.5-inch display which features a 120Hz refresh rate thanks to ProMotion and 40% smaller bezels. The A10X Fusion processor is powering the entire thing.
Apple Pencil also becomes more responsive thanks to the new iPad Pro’s display, while the 12.9-inch model is also getting all of these new changes. The 10.5-inch iPad Pro can also utilize a full-size on-screen keyboard in iOS.
In addition, Apple has introduced some iPad-centric features to iOS 11 that’ll allow users to multitask better and utilize the full potential of Apple’s hardware. For instance, there’s a new dock at the bottom of the iPad to allow for faster app switching, drag and drop with multiple fingers is now possible across apps, snap mode lets you run an app on top of another, the new app switcher integrates split-screen app modes and the Control Center, and a new Files app lets you view files on your iPad and across your various cloud services including Dropbox, Google Drive, iCloud, and more.
The 10.5-inch iPad Pro starts at $649 while the 12.9-inch Pro now starts at $799. Each includes a baseline 64GB of storage and go all the way up to 512GB of storage. There will also be new accessories such as a leather sleeve which includes storage for the Apple Pencil. Preorders of the new iPad Pro will begin shipping next week.
