During I/O 2017, Google delivered Asus’ news that the ZenFone AR, a handset with both Google Tango and Daydream support onboard, will be released this summer in the US exclusively through Verizon. This means you’ll need to be a Verizon customer to get the handset, but let’s hope an unlocked model arrives Stateside at some point in the future.

We don’t have a price yet or full details on what’s inside the ZenFone AR, but we do know the following specifications.

  • 5.7-inch QHD AMOLED display
  • Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor
  • 6GB RAM
  • 128GB storage
  • Android 7.0 Nougat
  • High-res audio w/ DTS virtual surround sound
  • 23MP main camera paired with a motion-tracking camera and a depth sensor for Tango

Stay tuned for further information regarding the ZenFone AR.
