Today is the day when Google will be holding it’s annual I/O developer keynote. Google CEO Sundar Pichai will host the event at the Shoreline Amphitheater in Mountain View, CA. WE expect to hear a lot of news surrounding the company’s software efforts such as the Assistant and Google Home, but as for hardware, you’ll likely have to wait until October.

That being said, a new VR headset which requires no phone or external computer input is expected to be previewed at this event. It’s likely it’ll serve as a strict developer tool to promote the development of VR applications, so don’t expect to be able to buy it anytime soon for yourself.

The keynote kicks off today at 10 AM on the west coast and 1 PM on the east coast. You can watch the entire livestream below. Be sure to stay tuned to MBEDDED as we’ll bring you all the latest from the event as it happens.
