Android Nougat Leaps onto 7.1% of Devices

Google has released the status numbers of Android for the month of May, and unsurprisingly, Android Nougat has made another jump. But this time, it more leaped than anything as it’s now running on 7.1% of all devices. This compares to last month’s statistic of 4.9%. Obviously, players like Samsung and LG are to thank for this spike as they’ve respectively released new devices with the OS onboard that are performing pretty well on the market. There’s also been no lack of updates for previous devices that brings their version numbers up to at least 7.0.

For reference, Android Marshmallow is on 31.2% of devices, Lollipop takes the cake on 32%, KitKat sits on 18.8%, Jelly Bean is on 9.1%, Ice Cream Sandwich decreases to 0.8%, and somehow by the power of God, Gingerbread has managed to climb 0.1% onto 1% of all devices.
