Apple Introduces ‘Rent Once, Watch Anywhere’ for Movies with iTunes 12.6

Apple is improving the experience of renting movies via iTunes. Starting with iTunes 12.6, you’ll be able to rent films and watch them across all of your devices rather being restricted to the device you rented on in order to finish playback. The company requires you to have iOS 10.3 or tvOS 10.2 on your device, but this is a small price to pay to have a better movie streaming experience.

Rent once, watch anywhere. Now you can enjoy your iTunes movie rentals across your devices with iOS 10.3 or tvOS 10.2.

This update also includes minor app and performance improvements.

We’re expecting iOS 10.3 and tvOS 10.2 to land very soon alongside macOS 10.12.4 and watchOS 3.2. Until then, get ready to watch rentals – which still feature time limits, by the way – across multiple devices by downloading and installing iTunes 12.6 for Mac and Windows.
