A few days ago, Verizon began rolling out Android Nougat to the Moto Z Play Droid Edition. It was unclear at the time when unlocked users of the handset would gain this update, but it looks like that time has come at least according to multiple users.

In case you’re not already aware, the Moto Z Play is gaining upgraded multitasking capabilities, improved Doze settings (as if it needs it), better notification management, and easier-to-navigate Settings thanks to the Android 7.0 update. It also gets a clean UI and fast navigation much like the standard Z and Z Force have.

All users of the unlocked Moto Z Play should be getting the update momentarily. If you wanna see if you have the update yet, head over to Settings > About phone > System updates. Be sure to plug in your phone and jump on a Wi-Fi network before downloading and installing. You may regret it otherwise.
