A new report out of South Korean outlet ETNews claims the upcoming LG G6 will launch on March 10th following preorders beginning March 2nd and stretching to March 9th. This would make sense as we’re expecting to see the device debut at MWC 2017 this weekend, so there may be some validity in this rumor.
In addition, Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy S8 over a month afterward on April 21st. It’s not clear when preorders will begin, but this date would line up with previous rumors of a mid-April launch. In addition, the company was originally expected to launch both the S8 and S8+ in Korea a week early, but they ultimately decided this wasn’t the best route to take for the sake of use of better supplies (we’ve seen what happens when Samsung rushes themselves before, haven’t we?).
Regarding specs, the LG G6 will feature an 18:9 5.7-inch display, a Snapdragon 821 processor, 4GB of RAM, dual cameras, Android Nougat, and an IP67 certification. As for the Galaxy S8, we’re expecting a 5.8-inch Quad HD+ display, a Snapdragon 835 processor, 4GB of RAM, at least one 12MP camera, Android Nougat, and an IP68 certification while the S8+ will bump things up to a 6.2-inch display and the same internals.
