Instagram has officially announced the addition of multiple photo and video uploads at once via their iOS and Android apps, bringing to life a feature that had originally leaked in a beta version of the app earlier this month. When going to upload a photo or video from your phone, simply tap on the “Select Multiple” button and begin tapping on all the images and clips you wanna publish. Up to 10 images and videos can be uploaded at one time.
Starting today, you can share multiple photos and videos in one post on Instagram.
With this update, you no longer have to choose the single best photo or video from an experience you want to remember. Now, you can combine up to 10 photos and videos in one post and swipe through to see them all.
Once you finish uploading your gallery, you’ll be able to view it in the standard news feed and swipe through all the pictures and videos. This works just like ads do that had the functionality before everyone else. An indicator on the gallery’s thumbnail from your profile will tell you whether there are multiple images in that collection or not, while an image appearing in one’s photo feed will feature a blue array of dots if there’s multiple photos or videos to swipe through. It’s a pretty straightforward approach that stays simple and elegant and isn’t as clunky as something like viewing multiple photos from within Facebook.
The feature will roll out to all Instagram users on iOS and Android over the coming weeks. Let’s hope Windows users get the update soon as well.
