Apple News Phones Rumors

Apple’s Next iPhone Lineup Will Reportedly Come with Wireless Charging

A fresh report out of KGI (via MacRumors) gives further indication that Apple’s upcoming iPhone 8 lineup for 2017 will include wireless charging. The analyst claims each model will include the technology, so no matter which variant you pick up, you won’t need a wire to re-juice.

By each model, KGI means all three iPhone 8 models. In other words, the iPhone 8, 8 Plus, and special 10th anniversary model with an OLED display. This means that those who don’t buy the top-of-the-line variant will be left out, a likely good move by Apple.

It’s unclear how Apple will implement wireless charging. The Apple Watch features magnetic charging which is technically wireless, however the company could go a different route and take a similar approach to Samsung by developing a special dedicated charging pad users can set their phones on. Either way, at least iPhone users will finally receive the convenience of wireless charging.

Other features of the iPhone 8 include 4.7-inch, 5.5-inch, and 5.8-icnh screen sizes, glass fronts and backs, and an OLED display for the special model. Oh, and in case you were wondering, Apple isn’t bringing back the headphone jack.
