It looks like Valentine’s Day won’t so lonely for some people this year. According to Republic Wireless, Moto will begin rolling out Android Nougat to the unlocked Moto Z starting February 14th. Right now, the company is performing a soak test of the software update so some users are already seeing the update, but everyone should get the system upgrade on the date specified nevertheless. If you recall, the Moto Z Droid Edition began receiving Nougat back in November.
If all goes to plan, the Moto Z will be updated to build number NPL25.86-15 and have the November 2016 security patch. Additionally, all the normal Nougat stuff like multi-window mode, Doze on the Go, improved notifications, UI tweaks, Daydream, and more will also be included. This news follows a previous report suggesting the unlocked Z would receive the 7.0 upgrade sometime this month. Whelp, it looks like that piece was on point.
To check and see if you’ve received the update on your unlocked Moto Z, head to Settings > About phone > System Updates. Alternatively, look out for a notification stating that the update is ready for you to download and install.
